Honors College Graduation Honors students who in addition to satisfying all College of Charleston requirements, complete all of the Honors College course requirements, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.40 will graduate from the Honors College and have the distinguished notation of “Honors College Graduate” on their transcript. Typically, the Honors College holds a ceremony and reception the Friday directly prior to the College’s graduation day.* Details about the time and location of the Honors ceremony are finalized during spring semester. Graduating seniors receive an electronic invitation to the ceremony and reception in their CofC e-mail accounts. An invitation is mailed also to the home address of the student. Immediate families of graduates are welcome to attend the graduation ceremony and reception.
Honors College Graduation Process For Students Below you will find a checklist that will help you prepare for Honors College graudation. If you are graduating from the College of Charleston but not planning on completing Honors requirements, or if you are graduating either earlier or later than expected, please e-mail Laura Euler so she can update your record to reflect your anticipated graduation date. If you are graduating from the Honors College, you must also do the following: 5. Use the Bachelor’s Essay Cover Page Template for your cover page and submit two copies (signed by your Bachelor’s Essay advisor(s)) of your Bachelor’s Essay to the Honors Center. Place the Bachelor’s Essays in two large envelopes and DO NOT bind, staple, or clamp them. Your signed copies of the Bachelor’s Essay should be turned in no later than Friday, December 18. For May 2010 Graduates: May graduates must complete the College of Charleston Graduation Application on Cougar Trail by February 1, 2010. To apply for graduation after February 1, you must complete a paper form in the Registrar’s Office in the Lightsey Center. If you are graduating from the Honors College, you must also do the following: 4. Complete the Senior Survey and bring it to your exit interview. Students graduating in December will receive their Honors College certificate at the general commencement ceremony in December or they can choose to return in May to walk during the Honors College graduation. |
