Business School Honor Society Inducts Local Executives May 23, 2002
In recognition of their business and civic contributions to the Charleston area, George W. Fennell and Gregory D. Padgett of Fennell Holdings, Inc. have been inducted into the College of Charleston’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for business programs accredited by AACSB International-- The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. George W. Fennell is the founder and president of Fennell Holdings, Inc., an investment holding business involved in the real estate, finance, hospitality, and aviation industries. His extensive civic involvement has included board membership in the Trident Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Charleston Executive Association. Fennell is a graduate of Walterboro High School and the University of Georgia. He serves on the advisory board of C of C’s School of Business and Economics. Gregory Padgett is the chief financial officer of Fennell Holdings, Inc. He is a College of Charleston graduate and a certified public accountant. He also has extensive involvement in civic organizations including his alma mater’s business school advisory board, foundation board, and Cougar Club. Other 2002 inductees into C of C’s Beta Gamma Sigma chapter are Lee Higdon, the school’s new president, and C of C business professors Rene Mueller and John Crotts.
