C of C Students Excel at S.C. Academy of Science Competition July 3, 2002 The College of Charleston’s undergraduate research program reaped numerous awards at the South Carolina Academy of Science 75th Annual Meeting held recently at the University of South Carolina- Aiken. The College of Charleston dominated in the number of presentations given by students from South Carolina public and private colleges and universities. The number of C of C presentations, 40, was more than double the number given by the University of South Carolina, the second place finisher for most presentations. C of C also led in individual awards, placing first in five research categories. The winning C of C students and their categories were: Christopher Wagner, Math/Computer Science Research; Emily Choi, Organic Chemistry Research; Jennifer Hayes and Sean Dunn, Math/Computer Science/Science Research; Kevin Young, Physics/Astronomy Research; and Emily Choi, Outstanding Female Undergraduate Student. ### Contact: Patrick Harwood |
